Mount Kidd
(Original artwork $864.00)
There is a specific kind of silence you only find in the Rockies after a heavy snowfall—a quiet so thick you can almost hear the snowflakes landing. This painting of Mount Kidd Kananaskis is my attempt to capture that exact moment of stillness.
I was drawn to this lone evergreen, standing heavy under the weight of a fresh winter coat. Instead of using standard whites, I leaned into the deep violets and cool blues that emerge when the sun starts to dip behind the jagged limestone ridges. I wanted the snow to feel "heavy," so I used thicker, more tactile brushwork to give the branches that weighted, drooping look that every hiker in Alberta knows well.
The original artwork is 24"x 24" Oil on Canvas hand-painted by Scott Storey.
